Overview

After spending the afternoon exploring some of the best sites that Kyoto has to offer, we will make our way to the Gion area where Geisha live and work. We will have a light meal before setting off to experience the wonderfully preserved historic charm of the Gion.

 

This tour is not available on Sundays.

4:45-5:15 pm : Early light dinner

5:15-8:00 pm: Gion evening walk

The evening tour section:

The tour starts by strolling along the lovely Shirakawa canal. You’ll be surprised how quickly you can move away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets. We’ll take you to the Geisha districts where you might be able to catch a glimpse of Geisha walking along the street. As the light fades and night falls, we’ll transition to the Yasaka/Higashiyama area. Here, we’ll enjoy walking along laneways in the historically preserved district, seeing a 5-story pagoda with its stunningly intricate structure before arriving at Yasaka Shrine, a major Shinto Shrine in Kyoto. After briefly taking a look at a quirky shrine where a deity of beauty is enshrined we’ll head over to a local restaurant to have a light meal and conclude the tour.
